Mathematical Mysteries

“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” ~ Albert Einstein

MATH IS FUN! That is the answer as to why you study mathematics. I do not mean that you have to take topology, differential equations, number theory or applied algebra to have fun. But you should enjoy the math that you do study for everyday life (e.g., balancing a checkbook, calculating interest rates, compound interest, and understanding loans) and what you need for employment (e.g., ratios, percentages, decimals, fractions, number sequencing, data checking, interpreting charts and graphs, and number problems).

There are many other benefits to studying mathematics and some of these include:

  • Mathematics helps us to have analytical thinking.
  • Mathematics makes everything else easy.
  • Mathematics quickens our minds.
  • Practically every career uses math in some way.
  • Et sic porro.

The above reasons are benefits when you study mathematics, but have fun doing so.
